i wasn't realy happy with it when it arived. it seemed poorly made. I've had this product for two years and now it no longer works. it was hard to adjust the screen so i could read it in bright light and at night without having to cover my head or adjust the settings.
I bought this 2 years ago and have used it off and on for a while now but now there is a horrible buzzing noise coming out of it, so I guess it is shot, but I can only guess because their domain is for sale and no one answers there phone, so I think that there is no TAO anymore.So ABSOLUTLEY DO NOT BUY THIS because there IS NO TAO to return it to or for support.
Just put the antenna in a window, find an empty XM slot and broadcast through your radio. The music programming on XM is GREAT.
Just don't think because you have XM you won't have to listen to commercials.you will. Being a Coast to Coast radio show fan and hating AM is one of the reasons I subscribed to XM.
The other night I was lying in bed listening to Graham Nash interview David Crosby.David was relating the story of how he wrote "Wooden Ships" on a sailboat in Florida. All in all, I'm glad I got it.
I haven't even used all the bells and whistles with this unit.it works great so far. I must warn, however, that finding an empty FM frequency in a major metropolitan area is challenging.
Well, Coast to Coast comes in great with no vitamin shows pre-empting them.but.and this is a big but.Talk Radio on XM still has commercials.tons of them.including the very obnoxious Fox Sports Report every hour.
The recording option has always been a little clunky, a bit like programming and using an old school VCR. This radio was one of the first to include "2Go" (a recording option). If I were shopping for an XM radio today, I would opt for one of the newer units that also functions as a personal walkman-like radio. If you don't subscribe to XM radio (or Sirius), you are missing out on some of the best programming this side of Internet radio (don't get me started on AM/FM). The home/car receivers for the Tao XM2Go work well in my area, and I haven't experienced any problems with reception (this could depend upon your use, of course--my use has been confined to the Midwest). Otherwise, this is a great unit for the price that is flexible for both home and car (but not, sadly, for personal use like some of the newer models).
I got mine over a year ago and it's been on the shelf collecting dust most of the time. It was very difficult to work with - It was difficult to get reception and I could never get the volume to adjust.I was hoping for more of a "plug-and-play" experience and this is anything but.I've just renewed my XM subscription, so maybe I'll just get a new system that's actually usable.
